Description

Many kinetosynthetic organisms get some of their energy from mobile Odifauna when they brush against or step on their energy-capturing appendages. In some ecosystems, there are enough animals traveling along game trails for some Odifunga species to be able to rely almost entirely on the foot traffic for their energy.  These ‘Path Snares’ have elastic cords covered in a layer of adhesive slime that spread out from the base, ready for animals to step on them, pull them taught, and allow them to snap back, generating surprising amounts of energy.  Rather than dispersing their spores, Snares distribute them in their immediate area, making sure that their offspring grow in frequently-visited areas.  This has led to heavy competition within the species, ensuring that only the strongest individuals survive and breed.
