Entomina Life Cycle

Description

Schitzonervids are Odifauna characterized by a pair of interconnected ganglia, each controlling a half of the nervous system (one connected to the respiratory system and motor functions, the other to the digestive and sensory systems).

Members of the Entomina Phylum have an exoskeleton that is separated into multiple plates with flexible, papery tissue between them.  Their life cycle is made up of four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult.  Adults mate and both parents lay a clutch of eggs that hatch a few days later.  The tiny zooplankton larvae twitch their way along, plucking even smaller organisms from the water or clouds around them, until they find some anchorage to metamorphose into a pupa which eventually splits open and allows an adult to emerge and begin the cycle anew.
